Fiji has a 7-digit national number format as of 25 March 2002. A digit was prepended to existing 6-digit numbers according to numbering range and type of service on a flash-cut basis i.e. callers using 6-digit numbers after the change date receive a recorded message rather than the intended party.
International prefix changed from 05 to 00.
Emergency short code changed from 000 to 911. That plus the 7-digit national numbering suggests some compatibility with North American Numbering Plan.
